Head Lice Pictures
These head lice pictures have been magnified. The size of an adult head lice,louse, is between two and three millimeters long. A nymph, which is an adolescent louse, is between one and two millimeters long.
Sometimes it can be helpful to use a magnifying glass when treating head lice to help you locate these tiny parasites. It is imperative when treating head lice that all head lice and their eggs are removed. In the case there are eggs, or nits, left in the scalp these will hatch and continue the head lice life cycle.
The head lice eggs and just 0.5 millimeters and two millimeters in length. They are firmly attached to the hair shaft, as you can see in these head lice pictures and generally about one centi meter from the scalp.
